How to Add a Supporter Manually
This article covers how to add a supporter yourself, instead of waiting for them to sign up through your link.
When to add someone manually
Manually adding a supporter is handy when:
- Someone told you in person they'd love to follow along.
- You're building your support list from an existing address book.
- A supporter isn't comfortable signing up on their own and you want to get them started.
Adding a supporter
- Open your supporters area from the menu.
- Tap Add supporter.
- Enter their name and email address.
- Send the invitation.
The person you added will receive an email inviting them to join and follow your updates. Until they accept, you'll typically see them marked as invited or pending.
Following up
If someone hasn't accepted after a while:
- Check that you entered their email correctly.
- Send them a quick personal message letting them know to look for the invite (and to check their spam folder).
- You can re-send the invitation if needed.
Adding several people
If you're building your list from a group — a home church, a sending team, a family newsletter — add them a few at a time so you can double-check each email. A clean, accurate list means your updates reach the right inboxes.
Respecting people's inboxes
Only add people who've expressed interest in following you. A warm, willing supporter is worth far more than a large list of people who never opted in.
