Open the post you want to edit.
Tap the photo or video you'd like to caption.
Add or update the caption text.
Save your changes.

Your caption appears alongside the media so supporters get the full picture.

Adjusting a photo

CordLine gives you a few simple tools to tidy up an image after you've added it:

Crop to focus on what matters and trim out distractions.
Rotate if a photo came in sideways or upside down.

Make your adjustment, then save. Your supporters will see the updated version.

Replacing or removing media

If you added the wrong photo or want to swap one out, you can remove it and add a different one. The rest of your post stays exactly as it was.

Tips

Caption faces thoughtfully. In sensitive settings, you may want to describe a scene without naming the people in it.
Crop for impact. A tighter crop on a face or a moment often connects more than a wide, busy shot.
Small edits, big difference. Straightening a photo and adding a one-line caption makes an update feel cared-for.

Adding media to a post

Start a new post, or edit one you're working on.
Tap the photo or media button in the composer.
Choose one or more photos or videos from your device.
Wait a moment while they upload — you'll see each one appear in your post.
Finish writing and tap Post.

Note: on the CordLine website you can add photos; videos can only be added from the mobile app.

Sharing more than one

You can add several photos and videos to a single post. When you share more than one, supporters see them as a swipeable gallery, so they can move through your pictures one at a time.

Photos and videos together

You can mix photos and videos in the same post. Videos show a play button so supporters know to tap them, and they'll play right inside the feed.

Tips for great media

Landscape or portrait both work. CordLine fits your photos to the screen without awkward cropping.
Good light helps. A photo taken near a window or outdoors looks far better than one in a dark room.
Keep videos short. A quick 20–30 second clip of daily life often connects more than a long recording.
Check before you post. Make sure faces you don't want shared publicly aren't in the frame, especially if you serve in a sensitive area.

How to Invite Your First Supporter

The easiest way: your invite link

Every missionary has a personal invite link. Anyone who opens it can connect with you in a couple of taps — no need to search for your name.

Open the menu and go to your supporters area.
Tap Invite or Share.
Copy your personal link, or share it straight to text, email, or social media.

Share a QR code in person

Speaking at a church, a small group, or a support banquet? Your invite also comes as a QR code. Show it on a screen or print it, and people can scan it with their phone camera to connect on the spot.

Invite by email

You can also send an invitation directly from CordLine:

Go to your supporters area and choose Add supporter or Invite by email.
Enter their name and email address.
Send the invite. They'll get an email with a link to join and follow you.

If your privacy level is higher

On Standard privacy, people who use your link or QR code connect with you straight away. On Enhanced Privacy or High Security, their invite arrives as a request for you to approve first — so you always decide who sees your updates.

The best updates sound like the person writing them. Phoebe can learn the rhythm of how you write — whether you're warm and chatty, short and to the point, or full of Scripture and wonder — so its suggestions feel like they came from you, not from a machine.

Phoebe picks up your voice from examples of your writing. The more it sees of how you actually write, the closer its drafts get to the real thing.

You can help by giving it samples of your own words — past updates, a support letter, or a note you've written to your team.

What your profile includes

Your profile is the first thing supporters see. It can include:

Your display name — the name your supporters know you by.
A profile photo — a friendly picture of you or your family.

Your location — as specific or as general as you're comfortable sharing.
A short bio — a sentence or two about your calling and your work.
A giving link — so supporters can partner with you financially.

Setting it up

Open the menu from your avatar in the top corner.
Go to Profile.
Tap any field to edit it, then save your changes.
Add a profile photo by tapping your avatar and choosing a picture from your device.

Sharing a little more

Depending on your ministry, you may also be able to add:

Family members, so supporters can pray for your spouse and children by name.
Milestones like birthdays and anniversaries, which can gently remind supporters to reach out.
A welcome post that new supporters see the moment they connect with you.

Before you post to a group

First, you'll need at least one group set up. If you haven't made any yet, see our article on creating and managing supporter groups. Once you have groups, you can direct any post to one of them.

Posting to a group

Start a new post.
Look for the audience or group option in the composer.
Choose the group you want to share with.
Write your update and post as usual.

Only the supporters in that group will see the update. Everyone else won't know it exists.

Tips

Name your groups clearly — "Prayer Team," "Monthly Partners," "Family" — so you always know who you're talking to.
Double-check the audience before posting anything sensitive.
Use groups sparingly. Most updates are fine for everyone; groups are best for the few that truly need a smaller audience.
