Photo Privacy and Safety on CordLine

This article explains how CordLine protects location and identity in your photos and videos, and how its content screening works.

Location data is removed automatically

Every photo and video you upload has its location data (GPS/EXIF information) stripped before it's stored — this happens automatically, on every upload, with nothing for you to turn on. A shared photo can't be used to figure out where you are.

Editing tools for faces and sensitive details

CordLine's photo editor lets you blur or black out faces before you post — useful if a photo includes someone who shouldn't be identifiable, or if you serve somewhere that calls for extra caution about who appears in your updates.

Content screening

CordLine screens uploaded photos and videos for inappropriate content automatically. Automatic screening is a safety net, not a guarantee, so the same judgment you'd use anywhere else still applies: review what you're sharing before you post it.

Photo downloads

We don't currently have a way for a supporter to save a photo from a post directly within CordLine. If you want someone to have a copy of a photo, sharing it another way is the reliable option for now.

Tips

• Check the background, not just the subject. A sign, a landmark, or a uniform in the frame can reveal more than a face does.
• Use the editing tools before you post, not after — review and blur anything sensitive as part of your normal posting routine.
• When in doubt, leave it out. A slightly less vivid update is worth it if a detail could put someone at risk.
