Setting Up Push Notifications

This article covers how to turn on push notifications so you never miss an update or a word of encouragement.

What push notifications are

Push notifications are the little alerts that appear on your phone — a new post from a missionary you follow, a comment on your update, or a prayer from a supporter. They keep you connected without having to open the app to check.

Turning them on

  1. Open the CordLine app on your phone.
  2. When the app asks for permission to send notifications, tap Allow.
  3. That's it — you'll start receiving alerts.

If you said no the first time

If you tapped "Don't allow" earlier, you can still turn notifications on from your phone's settings:

  1. Open your phone's Settings.
  2. Find CordLine in your list of apps.
  3. Tap Notifications and turn them on.
  4. Reopen CordLine so it can register your device.

Choosing what you're notified about

Once notifications are on, you can fine-tune exactly which ones you get — new posts, comments, prayers, and more — from your notification settings inside CordLine. See our article on managing your notification preferences.

Notifications on more than one device

If you use CordLine on more than one phone or tablet, turn on notifications on each device you want to be alerted on.

A tip

If notifications ever stop arriving, open the app once — that helps it re-register your device — and check that they're still allowed in your phone's settings.
