Managing Your Notification Preferences
This article explains how to choose exactly which notifications you get, and how you get them.
You're in control
CordLine can reach you in a few different ways, and you decide which. You might want a push notification the moment a supporter comments, an email for weekly summaries, and nothing at all for the rest. It's entirely up to you.
The ways CordLine can reach you
- Push — instant alerts on your phone.
- Email — notifications sent to your inbox.
- Text message (SMS) — alerts by text, once you've added and verified your phone.
- In-app — notices you see when you open CordLine.
Not every notification offers every method, but where a choice makes sense, you'll see it.
Adjusting your preferences
- Open your settings from the menu.
- Go to Notifications.
- For each type of notification, turn the methods you want on or off.
- Your choices save as you go.
Tips for getting it right
- Start broad, then trim. Leave notifications on for a week, then turn off anything that feels like too much.
- Keep the important ones. Comments and prayers on your posts are worth knowing about promptly.
- Some channels need setup first. Text messages require a verified phone number, and push requires allowing notifications on your device.
- Missionaries and supporters see different options, matched to what each of you does on CordLine.
If notifications feel like too much — or too little
