This article explains how an Organization account differs from a missionary account, including how following works in Discover.

Organization accounts work like missionary accounts, with a few differences

Organizations post updates, receive prayers and reactions, and build a community of supporters the same way missionaries do. A few things work differently:

• Post labels are organizational rather than personal. Where a missionary's posts are labeled Field Update, Prayer Request, and Praise Report, an organization's are labeled An Update, A Need, and A Win — the same three kinds of posts, worded for an organization rather than an individual.
• New supporters see a longer history. A new supporter following an organization starts caught up on roughly the last year of updates, compared to about six months for a missionary.

⚠️ Following an organization in Discover is instant

Tapping follow on an organization in Discover connects that supporter immediately — there's no approval step, at any security tier. This is different from following a missionary, where higher-privacy missionaries may require approval first. If you're an organization, know that anyone who finds you in Discover and taps follow is connected right away; if you're a supporter, know that tapping follow on an organization is not a "maybe" — it happens instantly. Supporter groups and Phoebe work the same way
