Even if someone learned your password, they still couldn't get in without that second step. CordLine offers two ways to do this: - **An authenticator app** — a free app on your phone that generates a new code every few seconds. - **Text message (SMS)** — a code sent to your phone number. ## Setting up an authenticator app 1. Open your account settings from the menu. 2. Find **Two-factor authentication** and choose to set up an authenticator app. 3. Scan the code shown, or tap **Open in app** to hand it straight to your authenticator, or copy the setup key and paste it in. 4. Enter the 6-digit code your app shows to confirm. ## Setting up text message codes 1. In the same Two-factor section, choose to set up text messages. 2. Enter your phone number. 3. Enter the code we text you to confirm. ## Keeping yourself from getting locked out - **Set up 2FA before you need it**, especially before turning on High Security mode. - **Consider adding both methods** — if you lose your phone, a second option can save you. - **Don't remove your only method.** CordLine will warn you before you remove your last one, because doing so could lock you out.
